Westwind Inn is located on Lower Buckhorn lake which is part of the Trent Severn Waterway. Boating options are endless. From Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving we provide complimentary Canoes, kayaks, rowboats, pedal boats and water bikes to help you explore as much or as little of the lake as you wish. If you want adventure paddle up the well known Mississauga river where you are in cell phone range but feel like you are in the most remote wilderness location...spend the day floating endlessly surrounded by only the sounds of nature. It is not unusual to be the only couple on the river even in the busy summer months. It is truly a breathtaking unspoiled wilderness with millions of perfect picnicking locations you will never forget.

Fishing is great on Lower Buckhorn Lake!

If you prefer to bring your own boat we offer boat launch and docking for over night guests. The launch is open from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. Our docks can accommodate up to a 40 foot boat with up to 5 feet of draft. Please be sure to reserve space for your boat at the time of booking.

If you are fishing early in the morning we ask that you start your day as quietly as possible and keep the motor noise to a minimum until you are well away from the resort as many of our guests will be enjoying a peaceful sleep.

If you wish,  a Hired  guide will take you fishing or touring our lake in a comfortable boat while you are staying at our inn.  (  fee  applies and advance reservation)

Ice fishing is now available on Lower Buckhorn Lake.

We offer boat cruises by reservation several times a week on our 24 foot Pontoon Boat which carries 18 passengers. If you prefer a private tour we can offer our boat at $250 per hour complete with captain.

For our overnight guests we offer boat launch & docking. If coming by boat we are on the Trent Severn Waterway at marker buoy 276 and have excellent docking for boats up to 30 feet.

White Water at nearby Burleigh Falls 10 min away. Churning rapids. Bring your own kayak or rent one at our local outfitters.
